Just when things were starting to get better

Just when things were starting to get better, 20-year-old Collin Long of Auburn, AL needs our prayers again.
It has been five weeks since the accident. Collin fell off a gator tractor while working at an Auburn golf course. He suffered a traumatic brain injury and was later taken to a rehab hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.

Collin’s mom, Amy (the principal at South Smith’s Station, AL Elementary School), shared this update:
“The pneumonia in Collin’s lung didn’t get better with antibiotics. He had a lung CT yesterday morning, and it showed the pneumonia had gotten worse.
“We were admitted to the hospital connected to the rehab unit (Memorial Hospital), and a chest tube was inserted yesterday. The tube has already drained over 500 cc of infection from his right lung. We will have another CT scan tomorrow to see if that was enough.
“If it’s not, the doctors want to do surgery to clear the lung. Collin has already been through so much, and I can’t stand the thought of another surgery.
“Please ask people to pray specifically that the CT scan will look clear, the chest tube can be removed, and that we can get back to rehab so he can keep moving forward with his recovery.
“Even with the chest tube, PEG tube, midline, and lung infection, Collin still shows up and does his best every day.”

It is my honor to share Amy’s note and to ask for prayers for Collin.
Let’s surround him with love and hope as he faces this new challenge, and may our prayers bring comfort and strength to his family as they walk through this hard time.
