Mitch Mitchell, drummer with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, in his book (Jimi Hendrix – The Inside Story) indicated that the one consistent Hendrix ritual after a show, was to visit clubs and listen to the music of others:
“One thing that impressed me with Jimi, no matter where we were in the world, after we’d finished playing, we’d go out and check out whatever music was going on in town. Noel never wanted to come, preferring to stay in the hotel and listen to the Small Faces. If there was any chance of a play with other musicians, even better. Through Hendrix I got to play with some great musicians, although he did pull the odd stroke on me, but always with a great sense of fun.”
