Did Hollywood actor Russell Crowe intentionally let himself go in the looks department or did it happen naturally due to the aging process itself?

He’s sixty years old. His most famous role, Gladiator, was shot in 1999 and released in the year 2000. He was 35 years old at the time and fit as a fiddle. Russell Crowe aged, like all men do. Below, you see the man with his much younger girlfriend and his two sons in Rome, Italy. He’s having the time of his life…

Russell Crowe became hugely famous after playing Maximus in the 2000 epic Gladiator. The film was popular all over the world, especially in Italy where the movie took place — it revived the “swords and sandals” genre and gave birth to shows like Rome and Spartacus. In Italy, particularly, “Maximo” was well-loved. Crowe would be offered free meals in any restaurant he would dine. Italians wouldn’t let him pay no matter how much he tried. Needless to say, he ate well, drank well and lived well. And as the years went on, the pounds kept… compounding.

When Crowe took his family to the Colloseum a few years ago, he joked on social media when he wrote the caption: “Take your kids to work day!” Because he’s a gladiator, and the Colloseum was his “office”. He’s a jolly man, he lives a good life and enjoys the fruits of his labors. So what if a sixty-year-old man actually dares look his age? He has no one left to impress. Let the man live.
