People speculated a divorce was brewing. Prince William having an affair. A pregnant mistress. I talked about it with my sister. Like an old gossipmonger. Shamelessly jumped on the bandwagon. Then, that weird photoshop scandal. Wrote about that right here on Quora.
I was dead wrong. Kate just announced she is suffering from cancer.
And she was keeping it quiet because, while recovering from a major surgery, she could not yet start treatment. Her body was too weak to begin chemo therapy. Yes there was some weird stuff going on. A long media silence. Photoshops pictures. Because she has three young children. And she needed to tell them, first.
Needed to tell them their mother is very, very sick. So they could deal with that, as a family. Before they would hear it through some trashy tabloids.
Or, from some dickhead on Quora. Like me. I was speculating, like so many others. When in fact it was a very delicate, deeply personal matter a family was (and is) dealing with. I was dead-wrong. We all were, those of us who felt we needed to ‘weigh in’ on the matter.
