I think that these pictures of Bella Hadid should shock people, but exactly the opposite is true.
The images, taken in 2017 while staying at her apartment in New York City, immediately went viral and were covered on every news site and in every publication. On social media, her fans complimented her on her looks and body, sharing articles like The Sun’s:
What most didn’t mention was the absolutely disgusting invasion of privacy that these images showed, and those who did mention it were met with criticism and backlash from those who thought that just because she’s a model and is often pictured in her underwear makes it okay.
She is paid to represent brands and wear the products they make in exchange for payment. Everyone who has a job provides a service and gets paid for it, just like them. You don’t expect to go home and someone benefits from being in your comfort zone, especially without her consent, but that’s exactly what happened to her, and no one criticized the paparazzi for it. They even shared the images to sexualize them instead of sharing them to expose the inappropriate behaviour of the paparazzi and use their own images against them. That’s sad.
