On September 16, 2016, police in Ashland, Ohio got a 911 call from a woman who said she was being held prisoner in an abandoned house by a dangerous man — who was sleeping right next to her at the time.
The call lasted a tense 15 minutes as “Jane Doe” carefully tried to tell police where she was without waking him up. At one point, she accidentally made some noise when she knocked over the Taser he kept beside him, but luckily he just stirred a little and went back to sleep. Slowly and quietly, she gave the officers enough information to find the house. When they got there, they rushed inside and saved her.
Once inside, police made a horrifying discovery. They found the bodies of two other women who hadn’t been as lucky — and they captured the man responsible, one of the most evil serial killers in recent times.
