Why do Americans and foreigners alike describe the USA as prudish? Why do I see nothing prudish about the USA society? USA feels like one of the loosest countries although Americans claim to be very reserved.
You don’t see the prudishness because you were brought up with those repressed attitudes about things like nudity and sex, so to you they seem normal.

People enjoying National Nude Day in NZ. This one always makes the TV news as people pull all sorts of amusing stunts naked.
None of this is intended to be sexual or shocking. It’s just people being natural and free. There’s nothing wrong with bodies.
Visit another western country and you’ll begin to see that compared to them the USA is in fact extremely uptight. If any of the above was tried in the USA there would be a huge moral panic. Outside the US it’s seen as a bit of fun and no big deal.
