Say hello to Frank Welker.
Don’t recognize him? What if I told you he’s the second-highest grossing film actor of all time, and also one of the most prolific actors of all time, with over 860 film and television credits on his resume, dating back to 1969?
Frank Welker is a voice actor. No, not just a voice actor, pretty much THE voice actor. He started his career back in 1969 at age 23 as the voice of Freddy in Scooby-Doo. 52 years later, he’s still voicing Freddy, and has also been voicing Scooby since 2002. He was the voice of Astro the dog on The Jetsons, Nibbler in Futurama, Santa’s Little Helper and Snowball II on The Simpsons, Tom and Jerry on the Tom and Jerry Kids’ Show, Baby Kermit and Baby Beaker in Muppet Babies, Garfield the cat on The Garfield Show, multiple characters on The Smurfs, and multiple characters, including Megatron, both in the original Transformers cartoon in the 80s, and the movie franchise. And that’s barely even scratching the surface as far as his body of work (which does include some live-action acting as well).
Frank Welker’s films have grossed a total of over $17 billion dollars — if you exclude cameo appearances, only Samuel L. Jackson has grossed more.
