I ran into Jack Palance, a fellow patron, in The Monkey Bar in the Elysee Hotel on East 54th Street in Manhattan circa early 1970s.
He whispered it was the friendliest bar he ever patronized—-probably told that about every bar he drank in.
On the way out the door, after midnight, he threw the bartender a $100.00 Benjamin.
My favorite bad guy—Wilson in “Shane”. Few knew Jack “City Slickers” Palance hated horses.
