Was Chris Hemsworth on steroids in “Thor: Love and Thunder”?

While Love and Thunder was a little controversial, I really liked it. However, I immediately noticed how juiced Hemsworth was.

In this left pic, he’s natural. You can get this figure easily by consistently lifting moderate weights, controlling your diet, and doing some rudimentary cardio. The beast he became on the right is not possible without heavy juicing.

Here’s what natural body builders at competition stage typically look like. This means, they are at their very best mixing size with body fat. Notice how they aren’t big. Generally, natural lifters will have a hard time getting past 200 lbs while still having low body fat percentages. It takes them years and years to get here. There is no such thing as rapid weight gains. They gain, maybe a few lbs of muscle per year, at most; if even that.

Hemsworth was over 230lbs for Love and Thunder. He is 1.9m tall, and he has so much mass, you can still see how bulky he is on that tall frame. He is 100% juiced.

For “Thor: Love and Thunder”, Chris Hemsworth focused on gaining significant muscle mass. He aimed to add more than 40 lbs of muscle in a relatively short period.

Over 40lbs of muscle! Experienced body builders can expect to see gains of 2lbs to 3lbs of muscle per year. Gaining more than that almost always means fat gain and when that happens, you can’t maintain the lean look. You will look chubby. Hemsworth gained 40lbs of lean muscle.

This is Sam Sulek, juiced to the gills, slightly less weight as Hemsworth in Love and Thunder. He did massive cuts to get down to this weight, which is why he looks so depleted. He won the Arnold Classic overall. Now look at Hemsworth above and look at Sulek, who is juiced.

Sulek looks phenomenal! If Hemsworth cut his body fat percent down to 5%, he’d match Sulek in size and definition.

There are 1 in 10 million freaks of nature who are 100% natural that, with enough years of training, can get really big and really jacked, but for the vast majority of body builders, being natural will mean they hang around 160lbs to 180lbs, even competition-ready, looking their best.
