She married a man who openly admitted to being in love with her since she appeared in the cult classic Labyrinth at the age of 15.
That’s right. Her husband, actor Paul Bettany, has admitted in the past that he was head over heels in love with Jennifer Connelly when he was young after seeing her in the film Labyrinth.
He had a healthy obsession with her and, apparently, had sworn to marry her as soon as he saw her for the first time.
Fourteen years later they co-starred in A Beautiful Mind.
They maintained their professional demeanor despite their obvious mutual attraction. However, they were already together.
Bettany, however, seems to have had a visceral reaction to the catastrophe that followed 9/11. To find out how Jennifer was doing, he wanted to call her. Since she was his first thought after such a catastrophe, he assumed he must love her. After finding her phone number, he called her and announced, “I’m coming over. We’re going to get married.”
They got married without having really been boyfriend and girlfriend since he went to New York.
