“My wedding story. I married the love of my life when I was just 20 years old, only 6 days past my birthday. He was 33. Everyone was shocked. They all said it would never last. My parents didn’t come. I planned the wedding, but I knew nothing. I was just a baby at 20.
The night before the wedding, a neighbor helped me with my gown. But she didn’t do a blind hem like my mom would have. I cried for my mom, who wasn’t there, and I got upset with the neighbor for “ruining” my dress.
But I was so in love, and the sun came out. And it worked, it lasted. We had 6 children, 3 grandchildren, and 34 years of love together.
He passed away from pancreatic cancer at 65 in our home, with his children and me by his side. Not many people get to experience such a rare and beautiful love story. This is us. Look at how handsome he was!”
