I want to share something that really touched my heart.
My husband, Milton, called me while he was on the road in Tennessee. He told me he was having trouble finding a place to eat because many restaurants there only serve customers who come through the drive-thru in a car. Since he was on foot, he tried walking up to a few drive-thru windows, but they refused to take his order.
Just when he was starting to feel discouraged, something truly beautiful happened.
A couple of people noticed him standing there and asked if he needed help. They kindly offered to place his order for him so he could get some food. Milton was so surprised and grateful, and of course he said yes. When it was time to pay, he tried to give them the money—but they refused to take it.
That simple act of kindness meant so much to him.
As he walked back to his truck with his food, other people began honking their horns, waving at him, and thanking him for the work he does. Hearing this filled my heart with so much joy and gratitude. It reminded me that kindness, love, and compassion still exist in this world.
I don’t know the names of the people who helped my husband that day, but I want to say thank you—from the bottom of my heart—to everyone who showed him generosity and respect. Your kindness truly made a difference and will never be forgotten.
