A white tiger killed a 20-year-old man who apparently fell into the zoo enclosure. The man fell 18 feet into a dry moat in the tiger enclosure, eyewitnesses said. Moments later, the adult tiger was seen dragging him by the neck.
Afterwards, a crowd gathered around the tiger’s cage and people did their best to help the man. They pulled out their cell phones and began recording as the tiger drank his blood.
One witness said he rushed to the tiger enclosure after hearing screams and saw the man locked in the tiger’s jaws, writhing in pain. “No one helped him,” said Himanshu, a visitor. A photo taken by witnesses showed the young man crouched in front of the animal, his hands clasped together.
Others said the young man suffered for nearly 15 minutes before dying. Security guards could do nothing because they had no tranquilizer guns or wireless intercoms to call for backup, they said. Zoo officials denied the accusation.
